fall fashion finds for parties & events
It doesn’t take long after meeting me to know that I have a love for shopping and a passion for fashion. To me, it’s more than just choosing functional clothing, but rather a means of self-expression and self-identity. Everyone has their own unique style that makes them an individual. This style helps them determine how they want to show up in the world, from work to everyday life to parties and events on the weekends.
My personal style (according to a quick text poll from my friends hah!) is generally trendy and ranges from flirty and playful to chic bold, but always has a pop of color. My friend Monica calls it casual glam :) When shopping for fall staple pieces that I can style up (dressier) or down (casual), I always look for a great color that will go with multiple outfits and a comfortable, flattering fit so you always look and feel good when you throw them on! Then, I definitely make sure to find fun, trendy pieces that will stand out at a party, event, or celebration. This season animal pattern and textures are very big - think of all that leopard, zebra, and cheetah prints you’ve been seeing in the store even beyond clothing!
I found some of these awesome trendy pieces (and some staple pieces too) at Bliss & Belle Boutique. I recently discovered this boutique on Instagram and immediately fell in love with their feed of fashion finds that make a statement.
I had the opportunity to visit Bliss & Belle Boutique, located at 1011 W. Armitage in Lincoln Park, to check out their new fall pieces. This boutique is right up my alley with pink walls, cute artwork, and solid life-fashion inspo in the form of neon signs. Aside from the Instagramable walls, the pieces they had were even cuter - sweaters of every color and pattern, mini and midi skirts, super soft plaid pullovers, and statement jumpsuits to name a few!
Bliss & Belle Boutique is a female-owned, local Chicago shop started by Blake Bell in 2018. 1. Versatile Mix & Match Pieces
I’m always switching gears from work activities to blogging events, and dinner with friends to traveling on weekends. The perfect thing for anyone on the go is to have versatile pieces in your closet that you can dress up or down, which is why I loved this smocked plaid top and suede skirt.
Quick Tip: I dressed the smocked plaid top down with jeans and an oversized white sweater, and I dressed the skirt down with a white tank, jean jacket, and simple tan mules.

1. Bold Animal Print Patterns
Versatile is great for everyday life, but sometimes you just want to stand out! This flirty, fun dress is perfect to pair with pumps or tights & booties. I am a firm believer in having awesome statement pieces like this dress in your closet too. When you don’t want to think too much, but you want to look and feel fabulous, it’s one easy piece to throw on.
Quick Tip: I dressed this look down by removing the fur stole, velvet headband, and adding a black leather jacket and booties.

3. Over-the-top Outerwear
You can’t go wrong with this furry white coat in hand. I love bold outerwear to help you stand out in the colder temps when everyone is layered up! This coat was perfect to pair with an equally amazing LBD (little black dress). This is my definition of casual glam - both the coat and dress are quite simple, but the textures turn them into stand-out pieces that work together to create the perfect party look for fall.
Quick Tip: I dressed this look down with a red and black flannel around the waist and a pair of red sneakers.
