the Fall bar cart edit
I feel like this summer started cooling off just as it was finally getting consistently warm! The upside for me is that I can shamelessly wear layers since I’m always cold ;) Bring on fall fashion: suede, knits, and boots. Your wardrobe isn’t the only thing that should get a #fallweather edit though – don’t forget your bar cart!
Your bar cart is a key statement piece in the living room, and it should add a fun festive flair to your room for all of your indoor hosting this fall. If you’re thinking my bar doesn’t feel like a statement piece, just keep reading! I’ve laid out some of my favorite décor tips that are as easy as A-B-C. You can make a quick trip to your favorite department store to find the latest fall décor goodies or use things you already have stocked up at home.
the abcs of updating your bar cart for fall:
add
Add plenty of warm fall colors! Bring on the deep reds, maroon, burnt orange, and neutrals. Start by choosing a neutral base color, then select 1-2 pops of color. You’ll see that I chose cream as a base color and classic orange as a pop of color.
balance
Balance the items on the bar - bottles, pumpkins, and décor alike. Consider using taller items on the outer edges, larger pieces as anchors in the middle or corners of the cart, and smaller items in clusters or nicely spaced out. Check out how I used the wine bottles as pillars on the sides, a letter board sign as an anchor, and the small pumpkins along the front.
cut
Cut out the greenery. I absolutely love fresh flowers and greenery, but dried fruits and dried foliage are a better fit for fall. (Don’t pitch your baby succulents, just find a nice secondary location for them until spring.)
decorate
Decorate the bar cart so it can double as a centerpiece for the room during your fall parties and entertaining season. Add things like decorative acorns, mini wreaths with colorful fall leaves, or fall glasses. Consider using a letter board sign with fun fall phrases to add a little extra decor to your cart! If it’s not your vibe, swap it out for a cluster of seasonal candles.
PRO TIP : Find this great Volupsa candle at Nordstrom or Bloomingdales. You can even grab dupes at spots like Burlington.
enhance
Enhance your cart with textures like flannel runners across the top, fall pillows, or even burlap. I added a pillow and sweater pumpkins to give the cart an extra pop and cozy feels.
Fall in love with your new bar cart look!
Falling for this bar cart look is easy! Now find fun ways to incorporate it into your next fall party for drinks and more - fall beer tasting, s’mores station, or even hors d’oeuvres.
